What is a CSCS Card?
The Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) is the leading skills certification scheme within the UK construction industry. CSCS cards provide proof that individuals working on construction sites have the appropriate training and qualifications for the job they do on site.
While not a legislative requirement, most principal contractors and major house builders require construction workers on their sites to hold a valid CSCS card.

Which Card Do I Need?
There are several types of CSCS cards. The right one for you depends on your qualifications and experience.
Green Card
LabourerFor workers carrying out entry-level site duties. Requires a Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment.
Blue Card
Skilled WorkerFor those who have achieved a construction related NVQ/SVQ level 2 or completed an employer sponsored apprenticeship.
Gold Card
Advanced Craft / SupervisorFor highly skilled workers or supervisors who have completed an NVQ/SVQ level 3 in a construction related occupation.
Black Card
ManagerThe highest level card for managers. Requires a relevant construction management NVQ/SVQ level 5, 6, or 7.

CITB Test
Pass the relevant CITB Health, Safety & Environment test within the last 2 years.
